Well, for the second time in 3 posts, I’ll post something from the genius of the Daily Show’s Moment of Zen.

Something so disturbing and unholy that you would definitely be shocked to find it on national television… until you realised it was American national television.

Yes, you heard that right… she just compared the watching of a TV show with the support of an inhumane action.

And I completely agree with her… if only because of my burning desire to watch her get painfully, painfully tortured.

I mean, if Americans love to watch actors get “tortured” on television then they would obviously support some unimportant Arab scum getting water boarded so that they would confess to have blown themselves up seven years ago, killing INNOCENT WOMEN AND CHILDREN.. while still being alive today

Obviously no one will care about them, because they’re not actors.

There are so many absurd analogies you can make between TV fiction and reality to completely ridicule this statement… that I will try to list as many as I possibly can.

Americans like Big Brother so they would support being locked watched by cameras in every aspect of your life.

Americans that watch Fear Factor love drinking urine and frequently snack on cow phalluses.

Americans that love the Sopranos support the mafia and organised crime.

Americans that watch Prison Break would do anything to get incarcerated, just so they could break out.

Americans who have seen Star Trek take weekends off to laze about on nearby planets.

Americans who like American Idol enjoy being sung to death (oh wait).

Americans that watch Happy Tree Friends like to be slaughtered in wacky, yet incredibly painful ways.

Americans who like That 70’s Show are live in the 1970s.

Americans who watch documentaries about Hitler are Nazi scum.

Americans who like Charmed believe in demons and witches.

Americans that enjoy watching the O’Reilly Factor are intelligent.

Americans that like cartoons believe that their own bodies are animated.

Americans that watch porn like to rape women and film it on tapes, while women are all too happy to please them.

Americans who watch Fox News support the current administration.

Please feel free to add more

I cannot express how much I hate uneducated unintelligible reporters, and not just ones like O’Reilly or Coulter, but completely ignorant ones with no views of their own, who just sit there and look pretty and recite what they are told by the government… Talk show hosts and the like.

Reminds me of the incoherent blabberings of this “reporter” for youtube that I discovered recently:

People like that do not deserve a place on television. They don’t even have a purpose there… they’re not brainwashing anyone, just dumbing down what people see on TV, slowly turning their brain into a mush.

Perhaps that is the government’s plan…

Umm… where (in THIS blog entry) have I stated that Americans are all stupid?

My point involves pointing out that idiotic shit like that makes it onto American television.. hence Americans are exposed to that, ie they are watching it

The analogies were made for their absurdities only.

judging by the name of the blog, the title of the post, the tone of the article, one would reasonably conclude that you think americans are stupid because they watch that crap. we aren’t talking court of law here, we are just talking reality.

i thought the first few analogies were ok, then they became a little stupid after that, but the post failed to offer any insight whatsoever. it certainly didn’t seem to mention how being exposed to this tv affects our thinking on the subject either way.

i didn’t actually watch the second one, that lady bored the shit out of me after about 10 seconds, but don’t see how the first person was bigoted. she just made a stupid leap in logic. (fyi, i have no idea who she is so can’t comment on any of her other stuff, and as i said before people get on tv that are controversial, not necessarily smart)

but I do think that a lot of americans would support torture of suspected terrorists. doesn’t mean we are all dumb.

When she (with delusions) classifies herself as a journalist, and gives credentials (there is no such thing as a ‘qualified’ journalist) and mentioned ‘fellow journalists’ what her eyes, they way they close and half close.

That is a sure sign that someone is twisting the truth.

I fucking hate ‘bloggers’ and ‘journalists’. You know, a journalist is the name of someone who works for a fucking publisher and writes reports. An plumber is someone whose job it is to fix fucking pipes.

Doesn’t mean you cannot fix your own pipes and make your own fucking reports.

The word ‘journalist’ has been grabbed after because of smacks of legitimacy and wanker blogger types want to be journalistic and have orgasms about their rights to freedoms, and write fucking ‘posts’ about how they can write what the fuck they want, and they hope this doesn’t change.

You should come up with a better title than saying “This is What Americans Watch.” First, some people can’t move out of the US for one reason or another even though they’d like to. Also, it’s like saying “Arabs blow people up,” While a few Arabs have done so, making it true, most Arabs don’t even though that’s what the statement implies. Thirdly, broad generalizations like that are annoying.

Good journalists spend time in school and have an incredible education; yet the people you are talking about are pundits, probably not educated in the field of journalism and certainly manipulated by powerful media conglomerations.

What about: People who watch Family Guy are a family consisting of a stupid fat guy, a redhead, an ugly teenager, his sister, a little half-year old bent on world domination and a dog.

Or: People watching TV think they’re a TV.

Or: Kids who watch Sesame Street think they’re about 100 different people, animals, puppets and a street.

Actually, you can go on about this for ever, just exaggerating and exaggerating. I agree to an extent, but I think that some of those things have gone a bit too far.
